Whats the definition of totalitarianism? Where a government takes total, centralized, state control over every type and aspect of public and private life.
Joseph Stalin transformed the Soviet Union into that in the 1900s. The government back then took over business, labor, housing, education, religion, the arts, personal life, and youth groups.
Barack Obama has already allowed the government to take control over business, labor, housing, and with the new health care bill, personal life. Slowly but undoubtedly, Obama is taking over America and scarring the image for what we once were. We were once seen as a superpower nation-- a independent nation. He has changed all that, and will even more before the end of his leadership.
He will be showing dictatorship and one-party rule with the almost all democratic government. We can't do anything until we get more Republicans up to the Supreme Court.
Also, with totalitarianism, the methods of enforcement will be police terror, indoctrination, censorship, and persecution. Do we really want this in America? Our nation, once so grand, will fall to pieces with Obama as our president. He will ruin us and what we once were.

I disagree. The only reason the government is given so much power over most businesses is because of the recession which has sent most businesses into complete and total choas. Without government intervention most big name businesses would be history and non-exsistant today. Such businesses are GMC, Applied Solar, and several banks across america! Without the government stepping in we would have lost a great deal of businesses, jobs, and money. And even though we have lost some of these things anyway, it could have be 10 times worse. Even some schools have had to cut teachers such as the DISD branch which fired well over 200 teachers last year! The government stepped in and took over an has helped over 30 percent of those teachers get their job back so far. Sometimes government intervention is needed in order to keep a nation from falling apart. And as for Stalin most of his ideas were based on british socialist groups suck as the british labor party. And in the 1900's people were so narrow minded about the political world and even more were uninformed, so to even try to compare obama and stalin is completely obsurd. These two men have lived in 2 different times, in two different American catastrophes. So the reason for Obama's intervention can not be compared to the intervention of Stalin. And to try to blame America's problems on one man is beyond crazy. These problems existed before Obama was even elected. and thats MyWordOnThat (h)
ReplyDeleteOne note. About the banks-- in case you haven't noticed, most banks across America HAVE gone out of business because of Obama. He has made most banks go bankrupt and has made some state government's banks go deep in debt as well. And true, government intervention sometimes is needed to help a nation, but not to the point where it is invading personal lives and having complete control over them. Also, I'm not comparing OBAMA to STALIN, I'm comparing what happened then to the Soviet Union under Stalin's law to whats happening now. As well, the problems may have existed before Obama was elected, but Obama helped make the problems worse.
ReplyDeleteThe thing is not every single bank could be saved and they didnt go out of business because of Obama, they went out of business because these banks were given money to ''help the people'' but instead alot of the money was spent on lavish living. So when stock markets crashed, alot of banks had NO MONEY to reimburse what was going out. The ''Bail Out'' plan, proposed by Obama was only a temporary fix for what was going on, but it wouldn't solve the massive problem that was already accumulating. Sometimes people forget that Obama is a human being and not God. He can't pop into the white house and fix everything and help everyone. He can only do a small part to assist a small portion. And to blame the under going of all banks on Obama is crazy. These banks were already going under and they just so happened to fail when Obama was elected. It takes time for things like these to be fixed and in the process of finding the answer to these problems some things may go wrong. It has happened before when other presidents were in the white house, so why is it such a HUGE problem now? The old saying goes ''sometimes things get worse before they get any better.''
ReplyDeleteGood points. But I'm not necessarily talking about those banks, I'm talking about the state banks that are deeply in debt because Obama has been taking money from them to help pass his healthcare bill which costs over $935 million. California's government bank is already bankrupt and in deep debt, and so far it is leading to such problems that California cannot take care of prisoners in the jails. Or police forces. So far, the state has had to release a lot of prisoners as well as some of the police forces. Because of this, things are going down the drain. More and more kidnappings, murders and scandals are occurring per week. This is eventually going to happen in ALL of the states.
ReplyDeleteCalifornia's 33 prisons were designed to hold only about 88,000 prisoners and right now they are over capacity with about 110,000 prisoners! California's prison problem was already down drain before the proposal of Obama's health care bill. The United States of America may be in a recession, but in theory we are still a POWERFUL and RICH nation. This healthcare bill will allow millions of people to get the health care they need. If other country are able to keep a stable economic footing with the same propositions declared in Obama's bill then why can't AMERICA?! And everybody knows that California has been having economic problems wayyyyyyyyyyy before Obama even issued the healthcare bill. And in my opinon if California learned to spend it's money and make wiser decisions it wouldn't be in such a shit hole to begin with. And when this healthcare bill becomes fully established I believe it will help alot more people than it will hurt and thats just stating the obvious.
ReplyDeleteIt also goes against the foundations that America was built upon. America was built upon the understanding that people would be independent and work for what they need/want. The healthcare thing is just handing them insurance, and personally, I would want a choice in whether or not I want insurance. I wouldn't like to have it forced upon me and be fined if I didn't want it. I would not want to have to only be able to get Medicare. I would want A CHOICE.
ReplyDeleteDoes it really matter what insurance you have as long as your health needs are being met? I think people are trying to make this seem like a bigger deal than it really is. Obama's intention is not to TAKE away from you personally but to HELP the MAJORITY! That is what presidency is all about. You find the problem with the majority, you try different solutions to help the MAJORITY, when a solution is found you take actions and apply your solutions to the MAJORITY! To keep america fully functioning the needs of the MAJORITY must be met and at the moment this health care bill is for the MAJORITY! And if you want to go as far back as the foundation of America then lets take a look at some of the ways the majority has been helped through out history. From the moment we set foot on America we were not built upon the idea that we would be ''independent'', hence the name ''UNITED'' States of America and not INDEPENDENT people of America. We came here with the intentions to work as a WHOLE to help build this nation. It's not every man for himself...America is built on the foundation that MAN is one and not an independent source.
