Not qualified?

Should the state's current president, Barack Obama, even be in office? According to the Constitution, he should not.

The law clearly states that presidential office requires a naturally born citizen if the parents are not already U.S. citizens. In the case of Obama, his father was not a citizen of America and his mother was only 18 at the time of his birth, which means even though she had been a citizen for 10 years, 5 of those years would have needed to be after age 16.

According to the law, he shouldn't even be in office.

  1. Ha. America has bent alot of laws for some presidential canidates. On March 29th President Clinton released personal letters from a woman who had accused him of making a sexual advance, he illegally violated her privacy. A violation of the Privacy Act is a misdemeanor, but because of his current position the law was bent for him to allow him to continue serving in office. There are also serveral other accounts where constitusional laws have been bent allowing people to serve terms. It shouldnt be any different for Obama.

  2. Apparently, it isn't any different, or he wouldn't be up in office. I am just referring to the law and what it states; I am not saying that the law should or shouldn't be bent.

  3. Well you're pointing it out as if it's such a huge problem when it really isn't.

  4. I'm not trying to point it out as a huge problem, I'm merely stating the law and saying that Obama's presidency goes against that.
